I have learnt many meaningful things this year. I learnt that dialogues are important and are often added to make it more lively. Proper plotting is required to make the story interesting for the reader to read. I find that having a word limit of 500 is hard to handle. Most of the time i accidentally over shoot the amount and in the end need to edit it. However i feel this is good as it teaches us not to be too long winded.I also find that the technique "show but not tell" hard. I have problem in that as i usually tell and not show. I find that the group works during class are very fun as we can discuss different ideas with our classmates and have different points on them.

ReplyDeleteI also agree with you that writing a story under 500 words is hard. I also face the same problem of exceeding the limit. I do not really like the group discussions as some of the group members would not discuss on the topic but instead talk about other stuff. Apart from sharing our different points, some of the group members would piggy-back on just one member and make him do all the work. I do not like it as the other group members would not benefit or learn anything from it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Clarence that we have certainly become more knowledgeable thanks to the LA lessons in term 1 that taught us many things and literary devices to add in our story. However,I do not agree that having a word limit of 500 is hard to accomplish as I feel that after learning so many new things,we would be able to take away the unnecessary words in the story to make the story an essence, thus making our story both shorter nad more pleasing to read.
